Buttercream is pretty simple but there are definitely some tips and tricks that make an okay buttercream turn into one of the most delicious things you’ve ever tasted.
How To Make Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
First, place you softened butter into a mixing bowl, along with sugar and whisk it in a medium-high speed for about 5 minutes until that butter is really light and fluffy and don’t forget to scrape down the sides of that mixing bowl.
Next, add salt, cocoa powder and your vanilla extract and mix those ingredients together for about 30 seconds.
With the mixer on, one tablespoon at a time add in heavy cream, turn off the mixer once the ingredients are all combined and scrape down the sides of the bowl. Finally, mix the frosting on medium-high to high speed for a few minutes until it is really light and fluffy.
